For 25 years, Chicago Cares has been proud to bring you Serve-a-thon, Chicago’s largest volunteer day. In order to plan for and launch a new Serve-a-thon in 2020, Chicago Cares will not be hosting Serve-a-thon in June 2019. One of his signature programs presented each year during the celebration of negro history, is his Speaker Series, in which he invite his congregation and others into the sanctuary to see and listen to world renowned personalities give their unabashed insight into America and the communities-at-large.

Chatham Initiative Would Bring More Jobs, Businesses, Ald. Sawyer Says

The initiative that unveiled Wednesday by U.S. Rep. Bobby Rush (D-Chicago) and Mayor Rahm Emanuel is called the Greater Chatham Initiative. It took two years to put together and will drive investment in Chatham, Auburn Gresham, Greater Grand Crossing and Avalon Park. The goal is to also generate neighborhood redevelopment and economic growth.
