Big News for the Chicago Cares Serve-a-thon!

For 25 years, Chicago Cares has been proud to bring you Serve-a-thon, Chicago’s largest volunteer day.  Over the past quarter century, we have built an impressive legacy of service: over 130,000 Serve-a-thon volunteers rolling up their sleeves to improve hundreds of schools and non-profit organizations in every neighborhood, strengthening and unifying Chicago every summer along the way.  In addition to the 200 group volunteer projects we offer every month that have collectively mobilized over 600,000 volunteers, the annual Serve-a-thon has become a treasured event to many volunteers, leaders, and partners.

Today, Chicago Cares is excited to announce that we are embarking on the next generation of Serve-a-thon – and we want your input!  Over the next few months, Chicago Cares will be working closely with our volunteers, leaders, and partners to re-envision a large-scale, incredibly impactful service event that could transform Chicago over the next 25 years.

In order to plan for and launch a new Serve-a-thon in 2020, Chicago Cares will not be hosting Serve-a-thon in June 2019.  Please note that there are still opportunities to host volunteers at your site this year; contact your Chicago Cares representative to discuss your volunteer needs.

Thank you for being an integral part of the magic and meaning of Serve-a-thon over the past 25 years.  We look forward to working with you to create Serve-a-thon’s next iteration.
