Last Day To FileTaxes Auburn Gresham FREE Income Tax Site, TODAY, April 18th!

The last three days to file your taxes (current and prior year), at the Auburn Gresham CEP Tax Site are Wednesday April 13th, Saturday, April 16th and the last day Monday, April 18th! We will have extended hours on Monday, April 18th. The location is 7811 S. Racine. Print and read the attached flyer, as a reminder of what you will need to bring. IT IS FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED. 66 Year Old Routing A Fresh Foods Plan for Local Seniors!

The Greater Auburn-Gresham Development Corporation (GADC) currently has two seniors from the Easter Seals Community Service  program placed in meaningful jobs, at our 7901 S. Racine location. This week we are highlighting the front desk coordinator,  Mr. Dishman. Yes, he is 66 and he is a very active community memeber, of the Your Voice Matters campaign, formed to work on developing the next quality-of-life plan for our community.

Lyric Opera of Chicago to Perform at Simeon High

The 19th annual "Opera in the Neighborhoods" tour will be at Simeon, 8141 S. Vincennes Ave., on Oct. 28 for two performances of "The Brothers Grimm. Third through sixth grades at nearby Auburn Gresham GOLD School, Westcott Elementary, 409 W. 80th St., will walk down the street to attend the performance!

CPS Attacks Excelling Clara Barton With Turnaround

Chicago Public Schools Board is arbitrarily clarifying Clara Barton Elementary School  for Turnaround status.  Usually the Turnaround process takes place after a school has been formally placed on probation and has a record of “no progress” in the deficit areas that placed the school on probation.  In the case of Clara Barton, they were not placed in this category nor were they ever on the Turnaround list.
