Perspectives Charter School Holds A Powerful Peace March, Student Leadership in Action

Dear Perspectives Family,

Last Friday morning, June 1, 2018, our students at Perspectives led their 5th Annual Peace March with nearly 2,000 participants strong. Our students were joined by staff, parents, friends, community leaders, and corporate partners to unify for a peaceful summer.

Our students led with passion and certainty as they rallied the community to stand for peace. We proudly stood alongside them and watched our students model what it truly means to Live A Disciplined Life®. Our curricular approach inspires students to lead with compassion, reflection and action - critical tools for the development of ethical leaders. The display of activism and empowerment shown on Friday gives us hope - in our city and across our nation.

As our students lead, so must we. We must be compelled to act and advocate against the injustices our Chicago youth experience on a daily basis.

Our kids deserve a summer without fear for their safety. We must not get discouraged. Instead, we must unite more strategically than ever to understand the role each of us play in being a part of the solution to violence in Chicago.

Please see our 2018 Peace March coverage from CBS and ABC.

Let’s continue to lead together and raise awareness together to restore peace in our Chicago communities today and into the future.

Peace,
