Shop Local Campaign
The Greater Auburn Gresham Development Corporation's campaign to shop local was created and first initiated, as part of the a strategy to promote shopping local in south side communities, that were included our Neighborhood Business Development Center (NBDC) service area.
Why did we choose and adopt the slogan to "SHOP SOUTH" to drive our shop local business initiative?
- To romote shopping at independently owned local business in our NBDC service area and also across all neighborhoods on the South Side of the City of Chicago
- To keep and put more dollars back into the South side communities
- To keep and to create more local jobs and the local businesses
- To keep, attract and help businesses thrive so we can eat, play, work and shop within our neighborhoods
- To offer and market to the rest of the city and beyond a place to shop at a diverse set of businesses unique to our neighborhoods
We introduced "SHOP SOUTH" in the first addition of the New Business Welcome Kit, sent to businesses in the our Neighborhood Business Development Center (NBDC) service area and secondly as part of our marketing campaign, at the 9th Annual Auburn Gresham 79th Street Renaissance Festival, held on September 6, 2014. Be proud of our communities and SHOP SOUTH.

"SHOP SOUTH" a neighborhhood marketing and advocacy campaign for our businesses. As part of our NBDC City of Chicago work plan to hold a "Shop Local" event, GAGDC is happy to annouce our first "SHOP SOUTH" event, as a sponsor for a pre-BlackFriday event, hosted by SIB'S Breakfast Club, NicoleLovesShoes, and Khamryn B Shoes, for an exciting:
"Red Velvet Shopping Extravaganza" featuring over 15 local owned businesses
