Oak Street Health Celebrates Veterans with “Preserving Your Legacy” Event
What: Oak Street Health is honoring veterans with a special “Preserving Your Legacy” event. We’re inviting seniors to participate in the Illinois Veterans Advisory Council’s Veterans History Project by coming in to any of our seven centers to get interviewed about their service. Interviews will be recorded and submitted the next day to the Illinois State Archives Collection. Veterans will be invited to a June Veterans event to pick up a DVD copy of their interview to commemorate their service.

Why: At Oak Street Health we proudly celebrate the contributions of our veterans and want to thank them for their service through The Illinois Veterans Advisory Council’s Veterans’ History Project. The project invites seniors to contribute their stories to an online database, thus preserving their legacy for friends, family and future generations. Oak Street Health supports this wonderful project and wants to ensure that, every veteran has an opportunity to contribute his or her story.
