Mayor Emanuel Moves to Expand the City's Transit Oriented Development Policy to Eight Bus Corridors Across Chicago
The proposal, introduced to City Council this month, would enable new construction projects along more than 20 high-ridership bus routes to reduce on-site parking and add density for more walkable neighborhoods. The proposal covers eight corridors served by the following routes
  • 55th/Garfield Bouelvard (#55)
  • 63rd Street (#63)
  • 79th Street (#79)
  • Ashland Avenue (#9, #X9)
  • Chicago Avenue (#66)
  • North Lake Shore Drive (#134, #135, #136, #143, #146, #147, #148)
  • South Lake Shore Drive (#2, #6, #J14, #26, #28)
  • Western Avenue (#49, #X49)
