AUGUST 5th "NATIONAL NIGHT OUT” AGAINST CRIME

MAYOR EMANUEL, POLICE AND COMMUNITIES CELEBRATE 30TH ANNUAL “NATIONAL NIGHT OUT” AGAINST CRIME

Mayor Rahm Emanuel and Superintendent Garry McCarthy will join Chicago police officers, neighborhood residents, local organizations and community leaders in participating in the 30th annual “National Night Out” with community events in every police district.

Events Planned in Every Police District to Build Relationships, Strengthen Communities

NATIONAL NIGHT OUT LOCAL EVENTS

AUBURN GRESHAM, ENGLEWOOD AND GREATER GRAND CROSSING:

  • 3rd (Grand Crossing) District: Meyering Park, 7100 S. King Dr. from 5-7 pm. Events include a safety equipment giveaway and other informational resources.

  • 6th (Gresham) District: March for Peace. From 1210 W. 78th Street (St. Sabina Church), Assebly at 5:00pm, step-off at 5:30pm, march to 6th District Police Station, 7808 S. Halsted, where events and activities take place from 6:00-8:00 pm.

  • 7th (Englewood) District: Hamilton Park, 7200 S. Normal from 11am to Sundown. Events include food, fun and festivities. Come show your neighborhood spirit!

“We all have a role to play in the safety of our city, and National Night Out is a great example of the many ways we can come together to strengthen our neighborhoods,” said Mayor Emanuel. “These events across the city reinforce the positive relationship between the Chicago Police Department and the communities it serves.”

Chicago’s 22 police districts each have events planned for Tuesday, August 6 that will bring the police and the community together for an evening of partnership building, information sharing and entertainment.
