On one of the hottest days in Chicago since 2005, Father Michael Pfleger, pastor of St. Sabina Church led parishioners and volunteers (including Illinois State University STEP UP Fellows) to distribute more than 2200 bottles of FREE and COLD water in Auburn Gresham at the intersection of 79th & Racine.

In all, nearly 50 volunteers provided refreshing 16.9 oz thirst-quenching water bottles for pedestrians and drivers passing by this very busy intersection of Auburn Gresham's main business corridor.

Pfleger, inspired his parishioners and others not to call 311, but to be 311 to their neighbors and others in need during these hot and historic days.

See photos here of this special day.
