Are you looking for a way to apply what you’ve learned in the classroom into the real world? Consider becoming an AmeriCorps member. Join me and a team of other students using our skills in technology, media and other areas to transform a community. For the past year I have served with F.O.R.U.M. (Fulfilling Our Responsibility Unto Mankind), a grass-roots community based organization deeply rooted in social change.
F.O.R.U.M’s mission is to teach principled living through the science of human, community and economic development: equipping and empowering youth and families, with the information, skills resources and opportunities they need to develop healthy, intelligent, productive lives without violating themselves, their family or their communities.
Over the past year, our team of AmeriCorps members have experienced the power in that statement first hand. Use what you know, sharpen your skills and gain the experience that only comes from being on the front line in an urban community. F.O.R.U.M. is located on the Southside of Chicago.

This year we’d like to be joined by others who are ready to join our efforts through innovative ways to use technology to educate and connect with the communities we serve.
