Where I'm From

I am from where gang bangers do drive by's;

Where young girls wear too small and too tight skirts to show their thighs;

I am from welfare and no health care;

where the government system is never fair;

I am from where men are not men. They trade their families in for the streets. Waiting for real men to take thier seat;

They think the system is always trying to hold them down, but yet they still try to be down;

Gang banging and dug slanging, I am from the bottom of the slum; where most people might think i'm from;

But where I am from, I don't hold the bottom of the stick;

I have hopes and dreams and whatever happiness can bring;

I am from role models and heroes,  who saw the goodness in me and helped me grow;

I am from a family tree, who made history;

This is where I am from, where GOD planned for me, in a path only he can see.
