ComEd's Construct Program Creates Greater Opportunities through New Project Management Track

Minorities have been traditionally underrepresented in the construction industry, but for the past six years, ComEd’s CONSTRUCT program has been working hard to change this. Every year its CONSTRUCT program has successfully increased the pool of qualified minority candidates for entry-level construction jobs in Illinois.

This year, with 108 graduates (largest class since inception), their program has also become more gender-diverse. What’s exciting about 2018 is the availability of a whole new track known as the new Project Management & Planning, which offers courses in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, customer service and engineering basics, creating a bigger pool and opportunities for ethnically-diverse individuals to expand their careers in the workforce.
