KIDS CAN SHOOT FOR THE STARS BY ENTERING COMED’S KIDVID CONTEST

If you have a tendency to shun the latest videogame for the latest buzzworthy movie, you might be in luck. ComEd is calling all 5th graders to enter the ComEd KidVid Contest by Nov. 10.

The KidVid Contest gives amateur moviemakers the opportunity to write, direct and star in their own 30 to 50-second videos on one of four themes: Lights ON!, ComEd in the Community, Power Protectors or It’s So Easy being Green

Teachers at elementary schools located in ComEd’s northern Illinois service area are invited to work with their 5th grade classes to submit their video entries. Schools are welcome to submit more than one entry, but a school is only eligible to win one award.

Selected videos will be posted on the ComEd YouTube Channel for voting and one winner will be chosen in each category. Winners will be announced in November.

Each winning student filmmaker will receive a $50 gift card and a group Power Up VIP Party at their school. The winning videos will be posted on the ComEd website, http://www.comed.com/, and the ComEd YouTube Channel for one month in 2018. In addition, each winning school will receive $2,500.

Visit ComEd.com/KidVidContest for more information and to submit your video by Nov. 10.
