MacCormac College to Host Fourth Annual Comedy Fundraiser

MacCormac College in downtown Chicago is delighted to announce that its upcoming Learn 2 Laugh annual comedy fundraiser will be held on Tuesday, April 12th at 6:30pm at the world famous Laugh Factory in Chicago.

The fun-filled event will star internationally acclaimed comedian, impressionist and actor James Stephens III. James’ cross-over appeal has taken him from performances at the White House, Las Vegas to the famous Apollo Theatre in New York. Joining him for the first time on the Learn 2 Laugh stage as special guest host will be one of the comedy scene's most hilarious stand-ups Marc Price, best known for playing “Skippy” on the ‘80s TV series “Family Ties” starring Michael J. Fox.

This is the fourth year that the unique comedic fundraising event will be held, with each of the first three events earning a rapturous reception. In 2015 MacCormac College, the only private, two-year, not-for-profit institution in Illinois, raised over $20,000 at Learn 2 Laugh and these proceeds allowed the college to provide scholarships and subsidies to MacCormac students.

As with previous years, the side-splitting event will begin with an enticing dessert reception showcasing the best that Chicago has to offer, leading into the outstanding comedic performances.  Tickets cost $100 and can be purchased on MacCormac’s EventBrite page. Admission price for the show also includes 2 free drinks and the opportunity to bid on fantastic raffle prizes.

The selection of prizes are the best-to-date with something to catch everyone’s eye, including: an unforgettable day at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida for four people; exotic and relaxing locations of Mozambique, Grenadines, Panama, or Antigua, complete with hotel stay and meals; a wine tasting for four that includes chocolate truffle, plus much more.

Dr. Marnelle Alexis Stephens, President of MacCormac College, said: “This year's Learn 2 Laugh annual fundraiser is set to be bigger and better than ever. With our unique combination of laughter and philanthropy, we are confident that it will be a huge success, with all proceeds from this star-studded event going directly towards scholarships and educational programming for our deserving students."
