Exceptional Summer Jazz Brunch

In a celebration of summer and smooth jazz, Washburne Culinary Institute’s Parrot Cage Restaurant at South Shore Cultural Center will feature brunch favorites along with select Brazilian menu items during its Summer Smooth Jazz Brunch on Sunday, August 25, 2013.

Brunch items will include favorites: Made-to-order omelets, turkey sausage, spicy fried chicken wings and waffles, creamy grits, Caesar salad, a roast beef carving station, fried catfish, slow-roasted tilapia, macaroni and cheese, spinach lasagna, and much more. The brunch will also include a dessert buffet featuring peach cobbler, lemon mousse cake, raspberry cheesecake, Parisian macaroons, and Washburne Culinary Institute’s famous red velvet cupcakes.

 Brazilian menu items will include:

  • Picadinho’a Brasiliera; ground beef and vegetables, served over white rice
  • Brazilian inspired black bean and turkey chorizo stew, served with roasted sweet potatoes
  • Brazilian inspired fish casserole; Tilapia casserole served over white rice with sweet peppers

Brunch-goers will enjoy music provided by Rick O’Dell of Smooth Jazz Chicago and performance by Paulinho Garcia Trio "Best International Brazilian Vocalist Award, 2012 by the Brazilian International Press Award"

COST: $30.00 per person (ages 13 and up); $15.00 (ages 4 - 12)
Prices include non-alcoholic beverages, tax and gratuity
