I-CARE WEEK 2011

The Safety Net Works of Auburn Gresham's "Do You Care Campaign" in collaboration with  Saint Sabina would like to introduce "I-CARE WEEK 2011" starting June 14'th and ending June 17'th. During this "I-CARE WEEK" there will be  4 days of events each dedicated to bringing  youth together in the community and promoting peace.

  • On June 14'th the "Do You Care" campaign will host a youth demonstration in Renaissance Park. Located on 1300 W. 78th St from 5:00pm to 7:00pm

  • On June 15th, the "Do You Care" campaign will have an "Youth Talent " showcase letting youth from the community come to Saint Sabina's Academy Auditorium to perform for cash prizes, located on  7801 S. Throop. General admission is $2 and free for those who perform.  Showtime starts 5:00pm and ends at 8:00pm

  • June 16'th will be "Hoops for Peace 5 on 5 basketball tournament" Youth  ages 12-24 from the community will participate in a 5 on 5 basketball tournament for trophies and other prizes. General admission is $2, team registration is $20.  Location will be at the Ark of Saint Sabina Gym, 7800 S. Racine starting at 5:00pm - 9:00pm

  • On June 17th the "Do You Care campaign" in collaboration with Saint Sabina will present it's first "Peace Festival" The festival will include food prepared by the grill, guest speakers and music. This is open to all ages and will be in Saint Sabina's parking lot located 1210 W. 78th PL . Time will be from 2:00pm to 6:00pm .

Then starting at 7:00pm will be the "It Takes a Village" Peace Rally with Pastor Michael Pfleger where a Community Rally and March will take place. We will be praying for peace, and the protection of our youth through these summer months. We will also be calling for jobs and neighborhoods to STAND UP AND SPEAK OUT. This will be the closing event of I-Care week and will start at 7:00pm.
